Counter Strike New Revealed
Valve finally revealed Counter Strike New after weeks of speculation. It's an update to CS:GO that will put the game on the Source 2 engine and make some major visual changes.
It also brings sub-tick server updates and responsive smoke grenades. It's made a lot armchair gamers go crazy however, it appears to be an upgrade for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting an overhaul that will completely change the method of using smokes in the game. These changes, dubbed responsive smokes, will be a game changer. Smokes will now expand to fill in spaces naturally and then move around objects on the map. They will also react with the lighting of the games, making them appear more realistic. Smokes will also interact with gameplay events. This will create new tactical possibilities. For example, bullets will cause smoke to temporarily make clear sightlines, while explosions from hex grenades will disperse smoke obstruction.
The most significant change to smokes is that they will be a more dynamic element of the game. In the past, smokes were a fixed shape that was limited in how far they could be pushed and the amount of vision it blocked. Smokes of the new design will fill the space in which they are placed and block more of a player's vision when they are there. This is a major improvement that will make the game more dynamic and give both teams the same view.
In case opening , smokes will now react to the surroundings as well as weaponry and lighting in the world space. This will make smoke more realistic and allow players to use it to gain an edge over their opponents. This is especially useful in the chaotic 5v5 matches which are bound to occur on every map.
Smokes won't be one-way, which was a significant issue in CSGO and allowed players to see their opponents' locations behind the smoke. Twistzz, a popular CS:GO pro, says that the new system is a huge improvement for competitive CS2 and makes it fairer for both teams.
Other minor enhancements include changing the vertical position of smoke particles to reduce the visible edges, and updating viewers' smoke overlay images so that they match their camera's location. The expiration time of smokes was adjusted to match the visuals displayed on screen.

Loadouts
Players of CSGO can now customize their weapon choice before the start of every game. The revamped loadout system allows players to select the weapons that best match their playstyle and team's strategy. The new system adds depth to the game, as players must find a balance between power and utility.
The CS: GO Update includes a number additional improvements and modifications in addition to the brand new loadouts. Most importantly, the buy menu has been completely overhauled. The old buy wheel was replaced with a grid that can be customized to show all the purchase options simultaneously. The grid is populated with five pistols as well as five "mid-tier" weapons like shotguns and submachine guns, and five carbines and rifles.
The new system will be simple to use, and will give players more control over their weapon selection. It will allow them to select the weapons which best suit their playstyle, team strategy and experiment with different combinations. It will also enable players to test their abilities against other players' loadouts and see how they stack up.
While many players are pleased with the added flexibility, others have been critical of it for straying from the fundamental premise of Counter-Strike. They have also raised concerns over how it will affect loadouts specific to maps and agent skins based on visibility.
Despite these concerns, it is important to keep in mind that the new loadout system is in its infancy and will go through more thorough testing over the next few months. Some of these issues could be addressed in future updates. It is crucial to stay informed for more details.
In addition to the new CS: GO features, the latest update also includes Workshop Tools that can be enabled in the game's settings menu and allow community contributors to design weapons' finishes, stickers and maps. Additionally, the update will now live ban players who break VAC guidelines during matches.
The new CS: GO update is scheduled to be released later this summer. Players can browse the complete list of updates and features by visiting the official CS: GO website.
Sub-Tick Updates
The server updates the world of Counter-Strike in short intervals of time referred to as ticks. Valve hopes to ensure that CS: GO is fast and smooth. Even the tiniest delay can affect the accuracy of the shot. A new video highlights the biggest improvements made to the game, which is also known as sub tick updates.
Rather than the 64-tick update that occurs every millisecond, CS: Go will now be able to utilize sub-ticks (or as Valve calls them, "micro-ticks") to communicate with the server. The client will record each of tiny increments and then send them to the server. The server will then transmit the updated game state back to players. The servers will know exactly when you fired a shot, jumped, or peeked.
Although a minute-long video may not enough to explain everything the video explains every piece of information sent by the client is accompanied by a time stamp. The server will collect all the information from all players in chronological order prior to sending it back. According to the video, a CS: GO will be capable of sending twice as much data than a 64-tick CS: GO.
This means that even when the game's tick rate goes up to 128 Hz, it'll be able to process your commands immediately and consistently. It's not just about increasing the tick rate as micro-tick updates can reduce latency and input lag by ensuring that the server responds to your actions without delays or glitches.
Valve's technical improvements to the game are just the beginning. The company employs particles and dynamic smoke to improve the way smoke interacts with the environment. It's also updating all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. Source 2 tools and features will be used to make changes to all CS: GO cosmetics and weapons.
Maps
The upcoming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, alongside some old favorites that are getting facelifts. These updates are currently being tested as part of a limited test beta. The first set of updates includes an upgrade and a touchstone map which will not undergo significant changes to gameplay, while other maps have been completely renovated or redesigned using the new Source 2 Tools.
Overpass is one of these maps that was revamped to benefit from the new engine's unified lighting system. The underpass on the map's dark and eerie scene is now flooded with daylight, making the space more spacious and less crowded. Additionally, smoke grenades will now expand dynamically to fill in spaces and interact with the new light.
Italy is another map that has been reworked. Its texture, lighting and structure have been significantly improved. The new version is more balanced than the predecessor that was heavily CT-oriented. In the future fans can expect to see classics like Aztec and Militia revamped.
While a lot of these maps are accessible in other modes, they're no longer added to the map pool for competitive play. Train is an exception, as it has been removed from Active Duty but will still be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't yet confirmed whether the other maps that were removed will be returned to the pool.
Helsingin Sanomat is the national newspaper of Finland. The change has been deemed controversial. The newspaper has been open in its criticism of Russia's actions against Ukraine. This map is based on war-torn Donetsk. The map is called de_voyna, and it contains a number of references to the conflict.
In the near future, the developer will be releasing a set of Source 2 tools for community map creators to make their own maps. This will include features like improved lighting and character read as well as a physically based rendering system that produces realistic textures, materials, and reflections. It will also make real-world objects, like windows and doors, easier to implement. The update will be available sometime this summer.
